When to accept an apology? Four steps required.

Often you hear some people say "oh, I forgive them..." when in fact, the offending party did not even ask for forgiveness. This is the case in Russia today. Not long ago I saw on TV a member of the Romanov family being asked by a Russian reporter if she forgives what Russians had done to Her Family. She looked slightly confused and then answered (rather sheepishly) that of course she does. Well, in fact no one yet has asked to be forgiven for the horrors of the Soviet regime. How can you forgive someone who is not repentant and has not even asked to be forgiven???

Step 1:
Ask for forgiveness. Say "I'm sorry".

Step 2:
Feel remorse for what you've done. Say "I feel really bad for what I (we) did."

Step 3:
Offer restitution. Say "What can I (we) do to make it up to you?"

Step 4:

Say "I'll never do it again".

At this point, one can then decide whether or not to forgive the offending party.

So...I'm still waiting for the government of Russia to do this.
And on top of that, this current Russian government is morally WORSE than the old Soviet one. Why?

The Soviet regime killed and stole property based on ideology.
By what right does this "new" Russian government keep stolen property "nationalized" under the Soviet regime??? It is not (officially) communist. So why does it keep stolen property and the old Soviet laws still in effect?

So far the Soviet "Moscow" Patriarch has congratulated N. Korea's leader, communist Vietnam, decried the fall of the Soviet Union, and now Castro.
Sickening. BTW- Soviet patriarch Kirill's KGB code name is "Mihailov"

Question for Russians...

How is it that the mummy corpse of lenin or his satanic mausoleum has never been desecrated? Yet any monument to Tsar Nicholas II is vandalized monthly???

Where are the Russian patriots???

In other countries people blow themselves up for the most ridiculous reasons, yet Russians allow portraits and even statues of stalin to stand unmolested???

Odd, no?

Murdered v. Executed

The Russian Imperial Family was murdered, not executed.
This is commonly confused and writers use these two terms interchangeably.
Criminals are tried and then executed by the state.
The Russian Imperial Family was not put on trial and thus were brutally murdered by their Bolshevik captors.
Let's get this distinction right...

Royal v. Imperial

So tired of people confusing these two terms-
Royal should be used if you have a king, etc who rules a kingdom.
Imperial should be used if you have an emperor who rules or ruled an empire. Thus, Emperor of Japan, not king of Japan. Japan has an Imperial House, not a royal house. He is NOT a royal, he is an emperor.

Same with Russia, Iran, Ethiopia, etc.
